AWRY
AWRY APEX Jock Thong
The waistband and jock straps stay put, but the shallow pouch forces a position I do not like and the thong panel does almost nothing. It feels like a decent jock with an extra part.

Direct verdict
Bottom line
The waistband and straps stayed secure through a one-hour lifting session, but the pouch kept pulling me into a position I did not want. I would not buy it again: the front became uncomfortable as I moved, and the extra thong panel gave me little benefit.
- Best for
- Short gym sessions and wearers who like firm jock straps, a downward-facing pouch and very little contact from the thong panel.
- Not best for
- A roomy or projecting pouch, upward positioning, or noticeable contact from the thong tail.
- The trade-off
- The lower straps stay secure, but their position leaves the center thong panel too slack to do useful work on my body.
- Would I buy it again?
- No. I would choose either a proper thong or a conventional jock. On my body, the APEX performs the jock's basic job while the extra thong panel adds fabric without adding function.

Overall summary
The APEX works better as a jock than as a thong. I like the pink fabric, and its firm waistband and lower straps stay put, but the thong panel adds almost none of the pressure I enjoy. That leaves me with a secure jock and very little reason to choose the extra fabric at the back.
Medium fits my 33-inch waist, and the garment held its position through a one-hour deadlift session. The pouch is the compromise: it is shallow, close-fitting, and favors a downward position that does not suit me.
Pouch / Support
This pouch gives me more room than some other AWRY pairs I have tried, which is why I kept it. Even so, it has little depth or vertical room. Everything settles downward instead of projecting forward.
The problem is the room and where the pouch puts it. I like to point up, but this cut keeps pulling me down, and once I started moving that became uncomfortable. Rearranging the front was an attempt to make room in the position I wanted; the pouch kept asking for a different one. Sweat made the close fit more noticeable, but it was not the underlying problem.
I doubt sizing up would solve this cleanly. The waistband and rear straps already fit; loosening those to gain pouch room could sacrifice the part that works. I have not tested another size.
Fabric and Feel
The single-layer pink fabric is slick and stretchy, with a soft, modal-like feel. I have not verified its composition. The same fabric forms the jock straps, which held firmly without chafing, digging in, or leaving marks.
It handled heat reasonably well during deadlifts and dried quickly afterward. Sweat lingered around the pouch seams, where the close fit kept skin in contact.
Waistband
The wide silver band anchors the garment well. Across five wears, it stayed flat and level without creating a pressure point. I expected the thick band to roll; it never did.
Pulling the rear roughly an inch higher makes the thong panel more noticeable. It also raises the waistband above my gym shorts and makes the lower straps too tight. I would not wear it that way.
Thong and Tail
The thong panel stays centered but creates almost no pressure or awareness. For someone who wants a barely noticeable tail, that could be welcome. I prefer some perineal pressure, so it leaves me wondering what the panel adds.
The jock straps stay beneath the buttocks without twisting or migrating. On me they press inward more than they lift, and normal adjustment did not let me get comfortable pressure from the thong panel and lower straps at the same time.
Movement and All-Day Wear
During a one-hour deadlift session, with sitting before and after, the waistband and rear straps stayed where I put them. The pouch kept pulling me downward as I moved, and rearranging it interrupted a fit that was otherwise secure. Sweat made the crowded feeling more obvious.
It looks unobtrusive under the reference gym shorts from the front, side, and rear, but I did not notice a support advantage for the lifting I do. I would choose a straightforward jock instead. An hour is also the longest I have worn the APEX, so I cannot tell you how it feels through a full workday.
Washing and Durability
After five wears and five washes, I see no change in the fabric, color, elastic, or stitching. There are no loose threads or rough seams, and the waistband and rear straps still hold well.
The durability rating of 4 reflects those early results. Five washes tell me little about how the silver waistband will age.
