AWRY CHEEKY Thong V2

Overall summary

I bought the CHEEKY Thong V2 because I wanted a different feeling across the top of my butt, where most of my narrow-backed thongs put very little pressure. The taut center delivers that contact, and I enjoyed noticing it through the day. The looser fabric farther out at the sides contributes much less, which is an odd distinction to make about a pair bought partly for having more of it.

That being said, enjoying a different feeling does not mean I want it every day. The smaller pouch is the main reason I reach for other pairs more often. My usual Medium fit well through the waist, hips, front and rear center, and I would choose the same size again; it is the cut I would explore further, rather than buying more of this one.

Pouch / Support

The pouch is decent, although it is the main reason I don't reach for the CHEEKY more often. It has enough room to cup my package, but less than the AWRY RIBBED and some of the other thongs I wear. There is a little lift and not much pressure on the pouch itself, with the fabric wrapping around me in a more downward direction than I usually like.

I prefer more room to project forward, especially for the gym, where I want to feel pushed up and out and held in place. Here, the pouch gives me cupping without much of that effect. I can accept it when I'm choosing the pair for what happens around the back, but it isn't the front fit I would choose on its own.

Fabric and Feel

The fabric is smooth and reminds me a little of cotton mixed with elastic, although the label on my pair lists 95% lyocell and 5% spandex. I liked it against my skin; the more noticeable issue was the difference between the taut center and the looser fabric around it. It wasn't uncomfortable, but also wasn't the most comfortable underwear.

Waistband

The waistband gives me a little light pressure, which I found pleasurable, but it also rolls and shifts over time. I like the sensation when it sits where I want it, although the movement makes it harder to call the fit secure. Getting the size right hasn't meant that every part stays in place.

The elastic is woven into the underwear fabric, so there is no abrupt change in feel where a separate waistband would sit. I like that continuity against my skin, although I would prefer a firmer hold.

Rear and Leg Openings

The upper part of the rear center is what makes the CHEEKY worth trying for me. It stays taut and flat, giving me pressure across the top of my butt that I do not usually get from a narrow T-back. It is distracting, but for this purchase that was part of the appeal. Sometimes I want to be reminded of what I have on.

The fabric beyond that center hangs loosely rather than pressing firmly against me. Those sides roll, but they do not take the enjoyable pressure away because the part creating it stays in place. The rolling makes surprisingly little difference to how the pair feels. Mostly, it leaves me wondering what the extra side fabric is doing there.

Movement and All-Day Wear

I wore it for a ten-hour day under standard business-casual dress clothes, and it felt fine while sitting and moving around. I could feel the tail throughout the day. It reminded me I was wearing the cheeky, made me feel special, and gave me something to enjoy underneath otherwise ordinary clothes. That was enough to make the day a good use of the pair, even though the smaller, lower pouch keeps it from being what I want for most workdays. I wouldn't choose it when I want my underwear to disappear, and I also wouldn't choose it when I want to show my underwear off!

For exercise, I enjoyed the pressure in different places, but it didn't give me the forward and upward support I usually want while training. For regular gym use, I would much prefer the Happy Gym Thong, which holds me more firmly in the pronounced position I like. My CHEEKY workout wear hasn't involved enough warmth or sweat for me to judge how the fabric handles either.

Washing and Durability

After roughly ten cold washes and low-heat tumble dries, I feel like the elastic is holding less. The looser fabric rolls more easily around the sides and a little of the back, and the bunching under pants has become more noticeable. I cannot separate washing from repeated wear, but I can see the change. It has not taken away the pressure I enjoy from the taut center; it has made the loose fabric look and feel less purposeful.
