Obviously Primeman Thong

Overall summary

The Primeman was one of the first pairs that made a thong feel like ordinary underwear to me. Some of my early purchases were closer to costume: velvet and lace felt interesting, but I also wanted a pair I could wear comfortably while doing something else. The Primeman turned out to be very good at that less glamorous job.

That is where the Primeman has earned its place. The pouch gives me room to settle naturally, the fabric feels soft against my skin, and there is very little to rearrange once I have put it on. I bought another in purple in 2023 so I could pack two for longer trips. These days I often prefer more lift and pressure, but when I want to get dressed and stop thinking about my underwear, this is still one of the pairs I reach for.

Pouch / Support

The pouch gives me enough depth for everything to settle naturally, with light cupping and very little compression. It does not push me up or out, and it leaves more freedom of position than the structured pouches I often enjoy. Under dress pants, that lower profile works particularly well.

What matters is that the room has not come at the expense of a fit I can trust. During my longest wear, I never needed to rearrange the front. That earns a 5 from me for pouch and support, even though pronounced lift is one of my usual preferences. Someone buying it specifically for that lifting effect would probably be disappointed; I appreciate how comfortably it holds me with so little pressure.

Fabric and Feel

The softness is a large part of why I like wearing it. The fabric feels light and airy, without the slick surface of some technical fabrics, and reminds me of bamboo to the touch. The actual blend is 90% micro modal and 10% Lycra spandex.

It has handled warmth and moisture well in my wear, and the Titanium pair still feels just as soft despite the years I have put into it. It looks older now, but I care much more about how it feels once I have it on.

Waistband

The waistband holds the thong in place without feeling particularly firm, and it stays level as I sit and walk without meaningful rolling or pressure. My usual Medium fits particularly well; I would buy the same size again.

The medium rise sits around the waistband of most of my pants and shorts. Occasionally, as my jeans loosen with wear, I can feel it riding above them. Under dress pants, where I usually wear the Primeman, the placement works well. It is worth checking the combination with your own pants rather than assuming a comfortable rise will also stay hidden.

Thong and Tail

The tail uses the same soft fabric as the pouch and rests lightly against my skin. Once it has settled, I rarely notice it, and it stays centered through ordinary movement. I sometimes enjoy more contact from a thong, but here the quiet fit suits the rest of the pair. I also see no tail line beneath the dress pants used for the clothing photographs.

Movement and All-Day Wear

The clearest test was an 18-hour day away from home: a mostly seated office day with regular walking, dinner with coworkers, an event, and finally the return to the hotel. Through all of that, I never adjusted the pouch, waistband or tail, and I never reached the point where I wanted to take it off.

Under those fitted pants, I saw no waistband or pouch outline, tail line, folding or bunching. By the time I got back, I could barely feel it at all. That is what I want from this pair on a long workday, and it explains why the Primeman keeps coming with me when I travel.

Washing and Durability

The Titanium pair has had at least 50 wears and washes since 2020, and it has started to look its age. The fabric wrinkles more readily, and some of the elastic around the pouch edges has softened enough to curl. I can see those changes when the pair is off, but they have not affected the fit once I put it on.

There has been no major structural failure or loss of comfort, so I gave durability a 4. It has held up well enough that I still want to wear it, while showing enough age that I would not call it unchanged. The purple pair I bought in 2023 gives me the same fit and feel.
